A stunning antique 19th century French Napoleon III period brass repoussé “miroir a parcloses” cushion mirror features delicately detailed sea shell shapes and floral repoussé surrounding the original and beautifully aged beveled central mirror framed with four further mirror panels, each corner adorned with foliate detail and the pediment with foliate motif and winged griffins flanking a central green man figural mask.
Of a larger scales than many of the cushion mirrors of this time period, and having a wonderful dark time aged patina, this piece would be ideal and an amazing focal point in a powder bathroom, entryway or above a fireplace, circa 1860.

Dimensions: 53 1/4 inches high, 31 1/4 inches wide / long and 3 1/4 inches deep.
Condition: Wear consistent with age and use. The mirrored sections all have age-appropriate oxidation and spotting, the smaller mirrored sections more so than the larger beveled mirror even though there is some oxidation and spotting present in the main part of the mirror as well. The brass frame has normal dents and wears to frame, most notable to the nose of the green man figure and the griffin to the left of it.
