Antique engraving after Vincenzo Giustiniani’s collection “Galleria Giustiniana del Marchese Vincenzo Giustiniani”, which was first published in circa 1630. It was published under supervision of Joachim von Sandrart, in the form of a compilation of engravings of the family’s gallery of statues.
Sandrart was a German engraver who traveled to Rome to work for Vincenzo Giustiniani. Sandrart employed several Dutch & French artists to complete Galleria including Theodor Matham, Michael Natalis, Renier Persin, Cornelis Bloemaert, Claude Mellan, and Francois Perrier.
