Framed Antique Roman Engraving, Sandrart Galleria V. Giustiniani, Plate #120

Antique engraving after Vincenzo Giustiniani’s “Galleria Giustiniana del Marchese Vincenzo Giustiniani”, which was first published in circa 1630. It was published under supervision of Joachim von Sandrart, in the form of a compilation of engravings of the family’s gallery of statues. This engraving is framed in a modern beautiful sleek black wood and glass frame.

Sandrart was a German engraver who traveled to Rome to work for Vincenzo Giustiniani. Sandrart employed several Dutch and French artists to complete Galleria including Theodor Matham, Michael Natalis, Renier Persin, Cornelis Bloemaert, Claude Mellan, and Francois Perrier.

Dimensions with Frame: 15 inches high, 24 3/4 inches wide / long and 3/4 inches deep. Engraving measures 9 5/8 inches high by 14 1/2 inches wide.

Condition: Wear consistent with age and use. Foxing and oxidation to paper. Crease where engraving was once folded in a book. See pictures as they are a part of the condition report!
